COLUMBUS, Ind. – At the January 21st meeting, Columbus City Council approved a tax abatement for Rightway Fasteners Inc (RFI), a manufacturing company in Woodside Industrial Park on the city’s south side. Even with the tax abatement, Columbus will collect $425,000 from the manufacturer over the three-year period.
The company is expanding and intends to add nine new jobs within a year and 24 within three years. It also wants to acquire three new coating lines and a heat-treat oven.
Last year, RFI officials came before the council to request a tax abatement, promising to add seven workers by the end of 2019. They actually added 25 in that time frame, and now have 420 employees.
